If your duties require you to work in or frequent a restricted area routinely and you could potentially be exposed to a source of ionizing radiation like a cabinet x-ray machine; State Radiation Control Agencies require that you receive initial x-ray operator training AND radiation safety training. Annual refresher training is also recommended or required by your State.

Whether you possess a security x-ray machine or an x-ray machine used in the food processing industry or other applications, if your x-ray machine is classified as a “cabinet x-ray” then this is the correct radiation safety course for either type or application. You should take this course first BEFORE you take the Security/Baggage Type Cabinet X-Ray Operator course, it will make more sense if you take this course first.
